Payments and Insurance
Payments:
Payments are due at the time of service. We accept check, visa and mastercard.
Insurance:
While I do not accept insurance, many insurance companies are willing to reimburse their customers for a few nutritional consultations. If this is important to you, you may want to check with your insurance company to understand their policy.
There are also some other options for reimbursement that you may want to consider:
- Flexible Spending Plans: most benefits programs allow individuals to put aside some money for health programs not covered by their traditional insurance plan. These may include health club, vision exams and copays, and they often also include visits to a Nutritionist.
- Medical Necessity Referrals: if you have a medical condition or high Body Mass Index (BMI) that would prompt your doctor to encourage you to partake in a nutritional counseling program, I can provide you with a Letter of Medical Necessity as well as an insurance receipt. Your doctor would sign the letter of Medical Necessity and you would submit both forms to your insurance company for reimbursement.
- Tax Credits for Weight Reduction: if your Body Mass Index (BMI) is over 30, you may qualify for tax credits, which means that some of your nutritional counseling would be tax deductible. If you are interested in this option, please let me know and I will give you the information.
If none of these options works for you, I would ask you, can you really put a price on health? Try sacrificing one or two nights out for an opportunity to get your health on track. In my mind, there is no better investment.
